"Lana did a great job working with our 3 dogs. She was easy to work with and very well organized. Lana quickly developed a bond with all of our dogs and took the time to work individually with each dog and with them all as a group. She also taught us how to train them individually and together. Lana was always well prepared with training plans and supplies, and we have seen the results of the training after our sessions ended. We wholeheartedly recommend Lana to train your dogs."

"Our family had the pleasure (and good fortune) to work with Lana for the last few months. We adopted a pair of lovely orange Tabbies who developed behavioral issues including separation anxiety and stranger/visitor avoidance behavior which led to significant marking and spraying, which was awful. Once we handled the underlying health issues (crystals) with our veterinarian we worked closely with Lana on the behavioral issues. She was always available to help and over the course of several visits was able to really bring Tom and Ziggy out of their shells. She also gave us the necessary tools to allow us to introduce new people to the cats without it being overwhelming. We are happy to say the marking has stopped, the cats are much more friendly and outgoing, and we couldn’t be happier!"

"It was awesome to work with Lana Brucker! I have worked with her for 5 months and seen incredible results.
I turned to her for help with my one-year-old golden doodle Kiko. She had been the sweetest, most affectionate puppy, and it was like she became a totally different dog after her spay. She was behaving aggressively to my other dog, who is much smaller than her, and to the people in my house due to resource guarding. She was very reactive, making walks and even leaving the house extremely difficult, and was completely unmanageable to handle. After several injuries incurred trying to control her outside, I was ready to admit I had no idea how to deal with her anxiety. Her vet even suggested seeing a veterinary behaviorist for long term anxiety medication, even though she was barely one. I was impressed with Lana’s website and positive, compassionate training methods, and we held a virtual consultation. I was struck by how thoroughly she took notes and didn’t miss covering a single detail. Throughout the virtual course, she was very dedicated and committed to addressing every issue we faced, even when new ones cropped up. She was highly flexible when I needed more time between classes, and when I asked for more detailed instructions to help me learn the techniques, she sent me comprehensive summaries as well as the zoom recording of our sessions. She also was very organized, taking notes during our sessions, and telling me in advance how to prepare for the next session. Lana was as helpful for me and my family as she was my dogs! Always in a calm, positive way, she encouraged me to work on my own anxiety to help my dog handle hers. We even did some calming warm up exercises for ME at the start of sessions, to help gradually ease my fear of Kiko’s reactivity! Thanks to Lana, I stopped being afraid of my dog and learned to understand and love her even more! When a circumstance arose in which I needed to leave home for a week, I took the opportunity to board Kiko with her for a week of training, a second course. She was so warm and welcoming to my dog, who had immense separation issues, that she even let her sleep in her bed! Kiko warmed up her to immediately, and happily enjoyed her week of training and extra yummy treats. She taught my highly reactive dog, who used to be difficult to walk in quiet suburbs, how to navigate complex scenarios like city streets and meeting people, in a way that was empathetic to my dog’s anxiety. By the end of the week, Kiko was much more comfortable with people, and even looked forward to meeting them! Lana then explained in detail to me how she had dealt with Kiko, so I could transfer those skills to life at home. Since then, Kiko has been much easier to handle. She walks loose leash, and passes dogs, people, and loud distractions with confidence, sometimes without a single reaction! She is very warm with my other dog, and by using the ideas Lana gave us, we can eliminate incidents between the two. Lana helped restore my entire family’s peace of mind, and we are incredibly grateful! Kiko has also calmed down as we have learned to help her better, and we rarely need to use calming/Cbd supplements anymore. I want to point out two specific changes that happened due to our work with Lana. In the consultation, Lana explained how she wanted Kiko to be able to turn to me in times of distress, so I could help her. I had no illusions of this ever happening; once Kiko reacted, we could never reach her. Now, Kiko looks at me when she sees something she isn’t sure about. My mom blew a whistle once, which Kiko had never heard before, and Kiko turned to look at me! I couldn’t resist sharing her incredible progress to everyone I knew! Another amazing improvement: when we would pass a dog on the other side of the street, she used to bark and lunge until the dog was out of sight. Recently, she looked at the dog calmly and actually sat down looking at me to wait for a treat! I was so surprised as I was prepared to walk away as fast as possible, and she just looked at me with sweet, trusting eyes and enjoyed her treat instead! Above all, Lana was a cheerful, calm person to work with. She never got frustrated, nor said a single critical comment. Her wonderful, compassionate attitude helped change our approach to dealing with difficult moments. She would always remind us with a smile, to use a happy, positive tone even when we were the most frustrated. This has been a truly helpful attitude to adopt, in dealing not only with Kiko, but regular life as well! I’m so glad I could learn from Lana. Thank you so much for giving us our cuddly, loving dog back! As we continue to make progress with Kiko, I’m sure we will be turning to Lana for more guidance." - Hema S West Windsor, NJ |
"Me and my boyfriend's cat, Eve, was struggling with separation anxiety and litter box avoidance. We were growing increasingly frustrated and felt as if we had exhausted all of our options. Lana not only jumped at the opportunity to help us, but truly went above and beyond for our precious girl. After visiting our apartment for an initial consultation, she provided a detailed, specialized "treatment plan" for Eve to help both soothe her anxiety and curb her bad litter box habits. Within a week, we saw results. Eve has now taken a 180 degree turn, and we couldn't be more pleased with what we've seen. She's more social, affectionate, and, most of all, uses the litter box when she's supposed to! She also loves "Toothbrush Time." :) Thank you, Lana, for being so great with Miss Eve!"

"Lana worked with my deaf and partially blind Border Collie pup and me (also including my other 10-year-old Border Collie mix). She gave us such an education as to how to calm down my puppy and distract him from unwanted behaviors. She went above and beyond providing him with a sand toy box to prevent digging and other unwanted behaviors. I can’t say enough about this young lady and her insights into your dog’s mind. 5 Stars!"

"Lana was incredibly helpful to us as we prepared our formerly feral cat for her first vet visit. Lana took a methodical approach, and came organized with helpful materials and lots of personalized advice. Our skittish kitty took to Lana immediately, and they became fast friends! And we became much more confident about our ability to get her into a cat carrier, and to the vet when needed. "

"One of the luckiest things to happen to us was meeting Lana in our hall while she was pet sitting for a neighbor. Lana’s obvious love for the cats in her care made asking her for contact information an easy decision. My dog can be shy, but Lana won her over instantly. Since then, Lana is the first person I call when I’m going to be away for the day or out of town. Lana checks in with texts and photos of my happy pup. I trust her with my dog and in my apartment. If you work with Lana, you’ll feel as though you won the lottery!"

"We were so pleased to have Lana take care of our cat, Pookie, while we were away. Lana is very reliable with a sweet disposition. She has a special way with animals. Our cat requires asthma medication daily, which was a concern of mine. Pookie is/was a one person cat. I was the only one who could administer his medication. From Lana’s first visit, Pookie trusted her. She won him over! After being under Lana’s care, he is now more trusting and friendlier to other people. Also, Lana sent daily updates and photos. We appreciated that very much. It was a relief to know that Pookie and our home were in Lana’s very capable hands. I know we will use Lana’s services again. We would recommend her to any pet owner!"

"I was fostering Foo Fighter for the California Doodle Rescue. He had been picked up by animal control in LA and taken to a shelter. He was sweet and got along with our other dogs but had issues that were not surprising for a shelter dog. In addition to being malnourished, he had a short attention span making it hard to teach him the socialization needed for walks and interaction with others, including our cats. We got his weight up to normal and realized how much he liked our family. And we realized how much we liked him. We contacted Lana for advice on how to work with Foo. We worked via FaceTime. My husband, James held the phone, and I held Foo and the treats and followed Lana’s lead. It actually worked very well. We had several successful sessions with Lana. She was calm and showed an almost instinctive knowledge of Foo’s situation. We adopted Foo. He’s happy and we’re happy. We love him. Thank you, Lana!"
